Three Big Home Games to decide Arsenal’s Premier League Season
The English Premier League has rarely been more competitive for the Top 6 European football qualifications and as things stand.
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side are on the fringes of their season either going one way or the other. It has been a sound but inconsistent start to the season for Arsenal and this has become a bit of a focal point in recent years; they’re just not quite producing the runs of form required to trouble the top two or three in the table.
However, looking at their fixtures run to Christmas and the New Year, Arsenal have quite a good opportunity to really penetrate the Top 4.
The Gunners are a big price to win the league now with Man City the red hot favourites at the bookies, where you could claim the latest offers to bet on Arsenal and the Premier League and increase excitement levels.
The Christmas period is a key time for all teams and Arsenal have three hugely important home fixtures which will surely go a long way in deciding how their season plays out and perhaps, the future of their legendary but now polarising manager.
On the 2nd of December, Arsenal will welcome Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to the Emirates Stadium. The Red Devils are 8 points behind the league leaders, but remain firmly in second place, so they’ll be a tough nut to crack, but with one or two easier assignments beforehand on the back of that superb 2-0 win over Spurs at home last week you’d imagine that confidence will be high going into that game.
If Arsenal can come away with three points there, it will give another confidence booster going into the Southampton, Newcastle and West Ham games next up.
The second of the aforementioned key fixtures is against Liverpool on the 22nd of December and a win there too could raise confidence levels through the roof, as the Gunners begin their New Year with a visit from Manchester City. If all goes well for Arsenal up to this point, this could be one of the games of the season.
Arsenal certainly have the quality to get into the top two or three. Alexis Sanchez is operating at the peak of his powers right now, the side are defending very well on the whole and their fans can certainly approach the next few weeks with big hopes, especially considering that those ‘big 3’ matches will be played on home soil.
They are a fairly big looking price at 13/8 with Betfair Sportsbook online to finish the Premier League season in the Top 4.
Arsenal put a price on Ozil with Man Utd sniffing around
The January transfer window is just weeks away and Manchester United have expressed a keen interest in talisman Mesut Ozil, often a player fans find hard to warm to. A Spanish newspaper has claimed that a price of £17.7m would be acceptable for the German winger, whose contract with the North London side runs out at the end of this season.
However, Man United won’t be the only ones trying to snare the 29-year-old, as one or two Spanish clubs have been rumoured to want him, along with FC Schalke, where Ozil began his professional career.
