Another Arsenal midfielder set for a spell on the sidelines
Mohamed Elneny is set to miss at least three weeks after picking up and ankle injury against Sutton.
He joins Santi Cazorla, who will miss the rest of the season and Aaron Ramsey on the injury list. It means that he will miss key games with Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
It leaves Granit Xhaka and Francis Coquelin as the only recognised first team central midfielders. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has done well since switching to the position and Ainsley Maitland-Niles may get an opportunity to prove his first team credentials.
It is yet another injury blow for Arsene Wenger though as we come to the most important part of the season.
