Arsenal are rumoured to be in line to bid for French international and Olympique Lyonnais star Hugo Lloris.
News coming out of France is that Lyon may be open to releasing their number one keeper should the right offer come along. Lyon chairman and owner, Jean-Michel Aulas told French TV channel TF1:
‘Lloris can go, but only for a decent price in relation to the market’
Goal keepers are known to be a weakness at Arsenal and the north London club have struggled to establish a quality stopper for a number of seasons. Wojciech Szczesny has proved himself in the number 1 role last season, however Arsene Wenger could well like to see another quality keeper come to the Emirates and bring some much needed competition for Szczesney. Following the release of Manuel Almunia, and Lukas Fabianski rumoured to be unsettled, Lloris could be the perfect answer to fill the hole at the back.
It is rumoured a fee of €15m would be enough to secure Lloris, however reports suggest Arsenal may see competition from Liverpool and Tottenham for the 25 year old’s signature.
