AOC get a pay rise, Bendtner is considering future, Giroud 90% complete
News coming out of Arsenal today is that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to have his wages trebled by the club
rising from 15k per week to 45k, after really making an impact on the biggest stages. AOC made 26 appearances netting on 4 occasions in his first year for The Arsenal.
Nicklas Bendtner’s agent has confirmed that the player is in talks with other clubs with Malaga the latest to be linked. The out of favour striker spent the whole of last season on loan to Sunderland. He failed to really make his mark in a floundering side and spent most of his time in the media for the wrong reasons.
Bendtner’s agent speaking to BT: “We are in negotiations with several clubs”
“We are reviewing the options before we decide where his future will be.”
The Danish striker has however made an impact of the European Championships heading in twice against Portugal and seemingly impressed officials at Malaga.
Further news on Olivier Giroud, Arsene Wenger has uncharacteristically come out and all but confirmed the signing of the 25 year old. Speaking about his impact on the Euro’s Wenger said:
“Giroud didn’t play much, but he’s going to be an Arsenal player 90% next season.”
“I think he has exceptional potential and will integrate very well in our collective and our way of playing. He’s a real team player and knows how to combine with other players and I’m sure he will do well with us.”
That almost confirms the departure of Bendtner from the squad with Giroud seen as many as a strengthening of the squad, not a replacement for Robin Van Persie.
