Lucas Biglia

Arsenal and Real Madrid are set to do battle over the signature of Anderlecht captain Lucas Biglia. According to various sources, the Argentinian international has been in talks with Arsenal and Real Madrid over a possible move.

According to the dailymail, Biglia is quoted as saying:

“Real Madrid and Arsenal have both been in contact and I’ll wait to see what happens.”

The combative midfielder has enjoyed a terrific campaign with the Belgian side and has inevitably attracted the attentions of Europe’s elite with both Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho looking to add some steel to their squads.

It is understood that Anderlecht would be willing to listen to offers of around £8 million and it seems likely that the in demand midfielder would be keen to leave if the right offer comes along.

‘I am still under contract with Anderlecht until 2015, but they know that I plan to leave. If a club offers the right price, they will let me go.’ Daily Mail

Any move for Biglia will seriously cast doubt over the potential transfer of Yann M’Villa who has recently been heavily linked with a move to the emirates.
