Arsenal back in for Kylian Mbappe after first bid was rejected
Arsenal will return with a bid of £95m for Kylian Mbappe – a new world record transfer fee if it is accepted, according to the Express.
It was reported earlier this week that Arsenal had bid £87m but that was rejected.
Mbappe is one of Europe’s hottest properties after taking Ligue 1 by storm as part of Monaco’s wonderful attack.
Alongside fellow Arsenal target Thomas Lemar, Bernardo Silva, Radamel Falcao and others they won the league ahead of PSG and made the Champions League semi final.
It would be a superb piece of business for Arsenal, even at a huge fee like this. Even if he did not succeed at the club then he would still have a similar value in a couple of years.
Arsenal have a couple of things that could give them the edge over rivals for his signature.
Firstly, they can guarantee playing time that others perhaps can’t. How many players have gone to Real Madrid and sat on the bench?
Also, Arsene Wenger’s relationship with Monaco and the player himself. As reported by Rob Draper of the Mail reported, Wenger has a good relationship with the player and his family.
