Arsenal confirm the departure of midfielder
Arsenal have confirmed that Dan Crowley has joined Dutch club Willem II.
The 19 year old was highly touted but has never quite lived up to expectations.
He spent last season on loan at Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands where he made 16 appearances.
He also spent time on loan at Barnsley and Oxford but never made a first team appearance for the Gunners.
He signed for Arsenal from Aston Villa in 2014.
Arsenal wished him well for the future.
Throughout his time at Arsenal he was compared to Jack Wilshere because of his similar playing style.
He follows the likes of Chris Willock and Kaylen Hinds out the door at the Emirates and into European clubs this summer.
The fee has not been revealed but the Daily Mail said last week that any amount would be highly performance based so it seems likely to be minimal or even no fee at this stage.
There could well be some sort of buy back or sell on clause in the deal.
