Arsenal open talks with Real Madrid over deal for star forward
Arsenal have opened up talks with Real Madrid over the sale of Alexis Sanchez, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.
The Chilean, who almost left Arsenal on deadline day in a £60m move to Man City, is a target for the Spanish champions for a move in January.
He has less than a year left on his current deal and Arsenal are facing losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
If he does not sign a new deal, and that does not look likely at this stage, they will not be able to get anything for one of the most valuable players in the squad.
He was left out of Arsenal’s starting line up for the game with Chelsea as Gunners fans got a taster of what life could be like after Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leave the club.
They would not have been discouraged as Arsenal put in perhaps their best performance of the season.
Arsenal may be convinced to cash in while they can still get a fee for the forward, even though it will end up being way less than they £60m that they turned down last month.
