Arsenal star set for a month on the sidelines
Petr Cech will miss around a month with a calf injury picked up in Saturday’s loss, according to the Mail.
Cech went off midway through the first half and was replaced in goal by David Ospina. Following a scan it looks as though he will now miss four weeks.
In that time, Arsenal have games against Man City in the league, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough. He could also miss the FA Cup semi-final with Man City but Ospina is likely to start regardless.
It comes at a terrible time for Arsenal, who need every player possible if they are going to turn around their terrible run.
Ospina’s performance on Saturday will do nothing to calm fans’ fears over this injury to the first choice goalkeeper.
The club have been linked with moves for the likes of Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland in recent days and are reported to be looking to move on from both Cech and Ospina.
