At the end of last week it was reported that Arsenal had offered €100m – and were subsequently turned down – for the youngster but that has not seemed to deter Arsene Wenger or Arsenal.
It would be a huge, and welcome, shift of policy if the club were to do this.
Not too long ago Wenger claimed he would spend £300m on a player if he was the right one. Well he appears to have found that player.
Mbappe has been superb for Monaco and at just 18 years old he could be the player that Arsenal build around for years to come.
It almost feels like the club know something that we do not.
