Arsenal star to miss Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Mesut Ozil will not be available for Arsenal’s clash with Doncaster tomorrow night.

Speaking ahead of the match he confirmed that the German international will not be available.

Ozil missed the Premier League match against Chelsea at the weekend and has returned to training.

He will not be risked for the third round tie though.

Wenger said: “Mesut is training again, but for tomorrow no [he will not feature]. He has a little inflammation of his knee.”

He Also confirmed that Mathieu Debuchy would not be involved, despite something of a lack of depth at right back.

Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers will both play some part though as they look to play their way back into Wenger’s plans.

Both spent the season away on loan at Bournemouth and Middlesbrough respectively, and have not featured in the Premier League this season.

The pair are likely to play a big part in the cups and Europa League this season where they will get a chance to show that they can play a bigger part.

Both looked as though they may have been heading out the door this summer but ended up staying with the Gunners.
