Arsenal star to snub interest from elsewhere to stay at the Emirates on big money deal
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will turn down the chance to sign for Liverpool and extend his contract at the Emirates, according to the Mirror.
The 23 year old’s contract expires in a year’s time and there was some speculation that he could leave the club but that does not seem to be the case.
He is expected to sign a deal worth more than £100,000 per week.
The England international has had a breakthrough season, particularly over the second half of the campaign.
He was moved into central midfield to cover an injury crisis and shone. Then when Arsene Wenger switched to a 3-4-3 he played brilliantly at right wing back, and even on the left hand side in the FA Cup final.
For his versatility alone he is worth the big contract. he can play almost anywhere across the midfield and also in more advanced roles.
He has suffered a lot of injuries in his time at Arsenal and he needs a run of seasons where he stays fit, but he can play a key role for Arsenal moving forward.
