Arsenal starlet returns to training after terrible knee injury
Arsenal’s Gedion Zelalem has returned to training following a horrific injury that saw him tear a cruciate ligament in a USA under 20 World Cup game in May.
An exclusive from Football.London shows him training at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.
The 20-year-old has had a number of operations and has returned to Arsenal as he steps up his rehabilitation.
Zelalem was highly rated when he joined the club in 2013 but has struggled to really break through at the club. He has been out on a couple of loans – first with Rangers and then with VVV Venlo – with mixed success.
He has made three appearances for the Arsenal first team – one in the FA Cup and two in the League Cup – but this injury was a further setback to his hopes of making it at Arsenal.
There were talks that he could leave the club this summer but the injury held back any chances of that.
