Arsenal sweating over Laurent Koscielny’s fitness
Arsene Wenger has said that Laurent Koscielny may miss tomorrow’s match with Southampton through injury.
The news on Granit Xhaka is more positive though.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference he said: “We have some worries for Koscielny he might not be available, he will have a test today.
“We will make the decision after training. Xhaka similar but he looks to have recovered well, news for him is better.”
Koscielny is arguably Arsenal’s most important player and losing him for a must-win game would be a huge blow for Arsenal.
Shkodran Mustafi has returned to training and could soften the blow, but the impact of losing Koscielny has been shown in the past, particularly in this season’s games with Bayern Munich.
Wenger did however have some praise for Rob Holding: “I expect good performances. He had some positive performances before.
“He has shown intelligence, composure on the ball. He need some experience.
“In every game he played he became stronger throughout the game. He always had convincing second halves.”
