Arsenal To Sign Chilean Star Within Days

Reports coming from Chile newspaper La Tercera, claim Napoli forward Eduardo Vargas will move to Arsenal on loan. They also claim the deal could be completed in time for the Everton game on Saturday.

Vargas spent the run-in to the World Cup on loan to Valencia having unimpressed his Napoli bosses. Scoring 3 goals in 17 appearances. So another loan move does seem to be on the cards with Valencia seemingly expectant on a continued deal. Until the Arsenal got involved.

The 24 year had a very decent World Cup, impressing alongside Sanchez and scoring in the game against Spain.

Let’s be honest he’s no world beater. But he’s got the same never say die Chillean attitude that Arsene and I love! We’ve all seen Alexis’ bite and determination around the pitch in just 2 games. Such desire is a must for a player in the Premier League – and will no doubt get the fans loving him in an instant.

Going way back to the World Cup I remember Arsene stating his love for the Chillean team, calling them the best South American team at the finals. He obviously knew he’d already sorted a deal for the star man, but perhaps he was eyeing up others too?

There’s no denying Vargas will certainly add depth to our squad and can cover a number of positions like Sanchez.

I guess his arrival could pose questions over the future of Campbell, Podolski and possibly Cazorla – all of whom have been linked with moves away.

I’d love to see all 3 stay personally. Podolski for comedy – Santi for his weak foot alone, and that smile and Campbell, well he excites the hell out of me, and surely deserves his chance right?

We’ll see.

Either way, it doesn’t look like we’re quite finished in the market yet. Which is great news. Yes it’s not that DM/CB – but surely that’s a matter of time, right Arsene?

This is one comment from a Chilean website-remember the Quintero stories a couple of weeks ago. He is a player of limited achievement and is not in an area we need to strengthen. Its not worth following and I’d be disappointed given his mediocre record in European football

I can’t disagree with you Henry – his record won’t blow you away that’s for sure. When it comes to strengthening the squad, i’m always in favor.
