Arsenal to smash transfer record for Jovetic, Walcott to Liverpool?

Arsenal Transfer Record bid for Jovetic?

More news reports today suggest Fiorentina are ready to sell, star man, Stevan Jovetic. However, Arsenal will need to smash their transfer-record & pay £23m to get the striker.

Some reports are questioning whether Chamakh could be used as part of the deal to lower the cost, though the sun doesn’t agree, reporting:

Viola sporting director Daniele Prade said: “We have not made one because he earns £2.3million a year.”

Walcott to Liverpool?

In other Arsenal transfer news, second contract rebel Theo Walcott looks closer to his Emirates exit with odds slashed on the winger moving to Liverpool, he was at 3/1 earlier today.

The current odds have him at 5/2 for an Anfield move. Many believe he could be the ‘exciting signing’ that Brendan Rodgers has been shouting about.

Arsene Wenger should do all he could to buy Jovetic or else, Arsenal may end up being in 7th & 8th position next season. Arsenal need another proven, good and hungry striker come next season. GOOD BYE Robin Perse.

I’d prefer if we kept Walcott and even tried him out in the center during pre-season.

If he does get transferred away, I must say that I respect the way he has handled things by staying silent much much more than I do Robin Van Persie.

I know a lot of you think Theo is crap, but I happen to be in the camp that believes he is very good and will continue to get better because he is still so young. Even when Theo seems to not be involved in a game, his mere presence helps Arsenal’s midfield. Just watch how opposing teams adjust their shape when he comes on the field. It gives our midfield an extra 4 or 5 yards (minimum) of space. Even the best teams react to him this way, including Barcelona, Man U, City, etc.

It shouldn’t be that easy to let go of Theo and RVP, these are the players that have been instrumental in piutting us where we have been over the past few seasons. What Ars needs is to strengthen, not by ridding of the key players but by getting new ones that should provide steel especially in defence and midfield. If it is selling players, the club should sell unestablished players first to ease the squeeze on the wage bill.

C’mon Wenger, we are bigger than the £23mil. Go for Jovetic. Make this team better than last season. Get rid of all the deadwoods and the players who are not committed to the team. We need trophies and you know how to do it.
