Arsenal transfer update: The latest on Sead Kolasinac’s potential move to the Gunners as Man City emerge as main rivals
Sead Kolasinac will choose between Arsenal and Manchester City when he laves Schalke this summer, according to Bild.
The Bosnian left-back is out of contract with the German side and last month it was reported that he had already agreed to the move. However, that seems to have been a little premature.
It is reported that both clubs have offered the 23-year-old a deal worth around £140k per week.
Arsenal will see him as an ideal replacement for Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs, who both could leave the club this summer or in Monreal’s case, more likely move down the pecking order.
City have struggled on the left side of their defence for some time with Gael Clichy still playing a significant role.
Kolasinac would be perfect on the left side if Arsenal see the 3-4-3 as a long term plan. He would add a real physicality to the Gunners and he excels going forward down that side. If Arsenal do sign him then he and Hector Bellerin would be a very good pair of wing-backs.
