Arsenal’s youngsters shine for England
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may have been the only Arsenal representative in the England senior squad, but in the youth squads our players were playing key roles.
First Rob Holding played the whole game for the under-21s and was part of a defence that kept a clean sheet as they won 4-0 in Denmark.
Chris Willock starred for the under-19s, bagging a brace as they came from a goal down to win 5-1 at St George’s Park against Belarus. This added to the goal he scored a few days ago against Spain. Willock has been linked with a move away from Arsenal but he has shown for club and country that he could be a star in the future.
The best though came in the under-18s. Eddie Nketiah scored a hat-trick in England’s 4-0 win over Qatar. The Arsenal youngster has scored 11 goals in 12 appearances for Arsenal’s under-18s and along with the likes of Reid’s Nelson is showing that the future could be bright for Arsenal.
