Arsene Wenger to stay at Arsenal for four more years
Arsene Wenger has declared that he wants to manage into his seventies and he believes that will be at Arsenal.
According to a Star report the Arsenal manager is likely to stay at least past this summer, despite a lot of speculation over the past couple of weeks that he would step down at the end of the season.
Four more seasons would take him to just short of Sir Alex Ferguson’s 26 with Manchester United.
It will come as a disappointment to many fans who have decided that it is time for Wenger to step down and hand control of the club over to somebody with some fresh ideas.
It is hard to say whether this is good or bad news at this stage. Wednesday’s defeat to Bayern Munich will have done nothing to calm the critics.
If he does stay, then things will need to change at the club. Whether that is a shake up of his backroom staff or some players coming in and going out remains to be seen.
