Mikel Arteta is to hold talks with Ivan Gazidis next week to discuss an improved contract.

It is thought that the midfielder took a £10,000 pay cut to come to the Emirates, Arteta signed a four year deal worth £60,000 per week and after his stormer of a season he has asked the club for a review.

Arteta played 38 games last season and netted 6 times, whilst forging good partnerships on and off the pitch, most notably with Robin Van Persie.

AFC are yet to hold talks with soon to be out of contract Theo Walcott and Robin Van Persie though this could be down to Euro 2012 commitments of which Mikel has none.
