Bad news for Arsenal as Player of the Month hobbles off against Southampton
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has left the pitch half way through the first half of Arsenal’s game with Southampton with an apparent hamstring injury.
Of course we can only speculate at this stage to how serious it is but it must put his chances of playing in the FA Cup final in a few weeks in real danger.
Chamberlain, returning to the club where he first broke through into professional football has been one of the team’s best performers over the second half of the season and recently scopped the April Player of the Month award.
Chamberlain has thrived on the right hand side since Arsenal’s change in formation.
Hector Bellerin replaced Chamberlain and it is great for Arsenal that they have a player that the role should come so naturally to sitting on the bench.
Bellerin has under performed this season with rumours of an injury flying around. He will be very important for Arsenal over these final few weeks if Chamberlain is out for a while.
