Growing speculation across the sporting media suggests Barcelona’s longing for Arsenal CM Alexandre Song, with multiple quotes from the Spaniards, most notably the very vocal Gerard Pique, here is what he had to say to El Mundo Deportivo.

“I have followed his career and he has become a very good player,”

“He is physically very strong and is good with the ball at his feet.

“We are open to his arrival,” he continued. “If he comes, and from what I have read he could do, we would love to have him.”

Pique is just one of many Barcelona players that have made their apparent admiration for the player public, and is an all too familiar tactic used by Barcelona, with the very public tapping up of Cesc Fabregas still fresh in the mind!

Barcelona are keen to offload youngster Cristian Tello as a sweetner in the deal. Wenger is yet to comment on the speculation but with Song under a long term contract the ball is firmly in his court!

Hi I would like to express some kind of worry?

Can Arsenal be really serious to let leave a player that has grown up in becoming one of the most or the most important player to the game of Arsenal ???

I think that would be madness!

He has a long contract, a reinforced team for the 1st season in many, a title challenge alive for once and a team he knows by heart.
I understand Barca is tempting, but thisseason might be a definite success if he stays, if he leaves I worry our midfield would let a “boulevard to other teams..

Now, the board of Arsenal should analyse what succesful team let their most important players left… none!

Barca never sold Xavi, Ac Milan never sold Pirlo in their successive succesfull campaigns, MU never sold Scholes or Giggs or Ferdinand or Vidic, Real never sold Casillas or Raul before he got old…

So that means Song must be an icon at Arsenal, a nurtured young prospect who became a strong and reliable CM with a tiger eye for assists.

He must be part of our refreshed team. I woul lose a lot of consideration for Wenger if he would be weak enough to not convince Song he is one of the successfull eleven that would bring glory back at the North London.
