Five players that could replace Alexis Sanchez

The rumours that Alexis Sanchez is set to move away from the Emirates at the end of the season just will not go away.

With Arsenal once again looking as though they are going to fall short in both the league and Champions League it looks more and more likely that the forward will move on.

Arsene Wenger (or whoever is in charge) will need to find a replacement for the man that has been involved in more goals than any other player in the Premier League this season.

Here are five players that could replace the Chilean.

Sergio Agüero

The Manchester City striker could soon find himself surplus to requirements at the Etihad following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus. He has started the past three games on the bench and recently made comments that could suggest that he is ready to move on.

The Argentinean has had his injury problems, but his talent is unquestionable. If he becomes available, Arsenal should be in for him, with or without Alexis.

Marco Reus

Like Alexis, Reus is versatile and can play on the wing or as a striker.

It seems like every window Reus is linked with a move away from Dortmund. At 27 it may be time for the German international to test himself outside of the Bundesliga.

If Alexis and Mesut Ozil can’t be convinced to stay then Arsenal will need a big name to replace them. It doesn’t get a lot bigger than Marco Reus.

Kylian Mbappe

Wenger has admitted that Arsenal are tracking the 18-year-old and has even likened him to Thierry Henry.

If Mbappe does leave Monaco then all of Europe’s top clubs are likely to be in for him.

He scored a hattrick at the weekend and has a goal or assist every 58 minutes this season for the Ligue 1 leaders.

The youngster still has a lot to learn but he has the potential to be one of the very best.

Paulo Dybala

Swap deals don’t often happen in football but with Juventus reportedly interested in Alexis, a swap could suit both teams.

There have been conflicting reports about the Argentinean’s future. Some say he is set to leave while others say a new deal will be signed.

The 23-year-old scored 19 goals in Serie A last season and could be just what the Gunners are looking for.

Mauro Icardi

Arsenal were linked with Icardi in the summer and could renew that interest if Alexis does leave North London.

The 23-year-old has scored 17 goals already this season and despite recently signing a new deal with Inter, could be available in the summer.

There is reportedly interest from Chinese clubs and that could be hard to match from a financial standpoint. But at 23, Icardi may choose to stay in Europe and the Premier League, and more specifically Arsenal, could be his destination.
