Fresh injury blow for Arsenal as star will miss clash with Manchester United
Granit Xhaka will be unavailable for Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United on summer.
Xhaka took a kick on the ankle in the loss to Spurs and will now miss this weekend’s game.
Arsene Wenger revealed that Xhaka has a swollen ankle. It had been unknown why Xhaka was substituted in the loss to Spurs but now it is clear that it was an injury.
There is some good news though as Shkodran Mustafi is back in training. Lucas Perez has also resumed training but suffered a setback and is unlikely to play this weekend.
Wenger said: “We have still Xhaka out from the kick he got. Mustafi is back in training.”
“Lucas Perez is back in training but I think he will miss the next two days, he got a little problem yesterday.”
Arsenal v Manchester United is always a big game, and this Sunday will be no different. A win would keep Arsenal’s slim hopes of Champions League qualification alive but a loss would completely end any hopes.
