Thank you Gareth Southgate, you’ve actually made me want to watch Arsenal again.
Yesterday I went to the England game and I didn’t think this would happen, but I can’t wait to see Arsenal play next weekend.
Sat there, listening to the band play the Great Escape for about the 600th time inside the first 30 minutes, I couldn’t wait for the game to be over.
One side turning up to avoid a trouncing, the other unable to break them down.
Players getting way too much praise for doing very little, *cough* Jermain Defoe *cough* and others getting unfairly criticised.
Fair play to those who go away with England and attend every game, because that was hard work.
Gareth Southgate seems like a nice enough bloke, but his over the top celebrations on the sideline were a bit much. He’s definitely trying too hard.
I can’t wait to get back to the debates over Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil’s future and how Francis Coquelin is bizarrely back in the first 11. Will Arsene Wenger announce his decision over his future this week? Wil a certain section of the fan base combust when he does announce he is staying?
Watching Arsenal lately has been more of a chore than a pleasure, but anything is better than that.
I think it is fair to say that I, like many others I am sure, have lost a bit of interest in Arsenal of late. The whole thing has just become boring as I mentioned a few times here. But thank you Southgate, Defoe, Hart and Lallana for giving me some of that passion for my club back.
