How Arsenal could line up without Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil has come in for a lot of criticism in recent weeks. Some of it warranted, some of it less so. However there have been rumours of discontent from other players and there is a real possibility that Arsene Wenger could drop his star man.

His performance against Bayern will have done nothing to disprove his critics. Here is one way that Wenger could set up without the enigmatic German.

There are still question marks in that team. Who plays at left back? Who plays in goal? But if Wenger does decide that Ozil needs some time on the bench then this could work.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has arguably been the team’s best player over the past month and has earnt a run in the side.

Something clearly needs to change and while Ozil should be in the side long-term, it is hard to argue, even for his biggest fans, that his recent form has deserved more time on the pitch.

There are only 4 of that starting 11 who are good enough to play for Arsenal.
    Sanchez, Koscielny, Mustafi & Bellerin.

The rest are average at best.

New manager, new players, new formation required.

Why do we need two defensive midfielders in every game.
