Huge blow for Arsenal fans – The Gunners will be without star man as they open up Europa League campaign
Arsenal will be without Laurent Koscileny as they kick off their Europa League campaign at the Emirates against Cologne on Thursday night.
Their star defender is serving a suspension from the red card he picked up as Arsenal were knocked out of last season’s Champions League against Bayern Munich.
It will be a big blow for Arsene Wenger as the French international has shown time and time again just how important he is to the Gunners – the game in which he got a red was a perfect example. The team feel apart when he went off and eventually lost 5-1 despite being very much in the game prior to the sending off.
It does open up the possibility of a return to the team for Calum Chambers. He spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and is yet to feature this season, but he could see his first action in this game.
