Huge boost for Arsenal in their pursuit of Thomas Lemar
Arsenal have been handed a boost as they chase Thomas Lemar with his current club Monaco seemingly replacing him already.
The Ligue 1 champions announced the signing of former Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal on a free transfer after his contract expired this summer.
While it is not a definitive sign that Monaco are prepared to let him go, it looks as though they are preparing for life after the French winger.
Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of Lemar and has already seen at least two bids rejected this summer.
Sky’s Darmesh Sheth has claimed that they have not given up on the Monaco star yet though.
Yesterday it was reported that Barcelona are interested in Lemar and that could scupper Arsenal’s plans.
They have plenty of cash to spend following the transfer of Neymar.
Arsenal are looking to offload some players from their large squad before making any more signings but it does not seem like the links with Lemar are going to end any time soon.
