Injury boost for Arsenal as striker returns to training
Danny Welbeck returned to training today ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City.
Arsene Wenger had earlier said that the striker was a doubt for Sunday’s match at Wembley but it will be a boost to the team to see Welbeck back in action.
His whole Arsenal career has been broken up by injuries but when he has been fit he has shown what an important player he is for the club.
Shkodran Mustafi, David Opsina and Lucas Perez have all been ruled out already, but Welbeck could line up for the big game.
If Arsene Wenger persists with three at the back then Danny Welbeck may be a better option in the front three than Olivier Giroud was against Middlesbrough.
When fit, the Englishman has started most games for Arsenal of late.
He has scored two goals in his two FA Cup appearances so far this season.
