Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has played down talk linking the Arsenal front man, Robin Van Persie with a summer switch to the Etihad.
RVP is in the last year of his contract and with talk on negotiations with Arsenal non-existent, many fear his departure from the Emirates could be imminent, with Manchester City the front runners in the race for his signature.
Mancini is reported in The Sun:
“Van Persie? He is an Arsenal player and I don’t want to disrespect Arsene Wenger. “We have four strikers and we will start the pre-season in five days, it’s unlikely there will be major changes in such a short time.”
So it looks as though Van Persie won’t be joining the likes of Adebayor, Toure, Clichy and Nasri, well at least for the immediate future.
Other reports are linking RVP with a move to PSG for £25 million.
