Greek International defender Kostas Manolas has been left out of the Olympiacos squad ahead of their pre-season friendly with Athletico Bilbao tomorrow.

Here’s the proof…

For those of you who don’t understand Greek – firstly, you’re seriously missing out, and secondly here is the squad in English…

Roberto, Meyer, Abidal, Avlonitis, Vouros boots Bouchalakis, Diamantakos, Dominguez, Ntosevi, Elampntelaoui, Fuster, Gkazarian, Qassam, Kolovos, Maniatis, Mazouakou, Entingka Papadopoulos, Salinas, Samara, Saviola.

We’ve been linked with the centre back by multiple sources since the departure of club capitan Thomas Vermaelen. At 23 he’s a young option with some fantastic experience already under his belt, including 13 international appearances.

If there’s one thing we learnt from the Greeks at the World Cup, defending is something they’re good at. Arsene was clearly impressed by his talent and is seemingly interested in bringing the youngster to the Arsenal.

I’m not going to lie, he flew under the radar for me, most Greek games at the World Cup had me asleep at half time, but I guess that’s a great thing for a defender and just what we need in our team. The Tony Pulis school of defending. I’ll take that.

So make of that what you will.

I’ve not read of any injury to the player – care to enlighten me if that’s the case.

He’s clearly on the move somewhere. Let’s hope it’s London Colney.

For those of you that trust Goal – Mr Veysey has just tweeted this…

If you’re not familiar with Manolas, here he is doing football stuff…

Have not seen anything of the guy so I would have to trust Wenger’s judgement. After the Cygan/Sylvestre affair I hope it’s not a mistake. I was hoping for Fabian Schar who is a dominany goal scoring CB, who defends like a lion and has technique and power.

I see this guy and makes me think this is it. Trust me, he seems like a B who could score more goals in a season than Bendner. And looking at his support during set paces; I see Arsenal scoring more goals through this guy from such positions. Yes AW, go for it

    Manolas is a top player!
Seen him many times, and he is very different to Per & Kos in that he is 100 times more physical. He absolutely puts his body on the line and is a no-frills defender that will be perfect in the prem. Will not get ruffled or bossed by anyone, and he’ll eat the likes of Stoke for breakfast!

The LAST player we needed is Hummels, vastly overrated defender that had boateng constantly baling him out of trouble on the WC.

Although I do not know much about the player, I am quite impressed with his age, I know Arsene Wenger, when he was at the world cup, he spend most of his time monitoring good players and he had more chance and time to look what is best for Arsenal. We are not sure about the roumers yet, as they are so many stories about what is happening in footbal. We only believe it when we see an official announcement. As for now it is hear say, as so many players are being offered to Arsenal by the media and newspapers.
