Mbaye Niang on trial, Afellay set to join?

Niang On Trial at Arsenal

Caen have confirmed that Arsenal have taken the highly rated 17 year old French sensation Mbaye Niang on trial with their full consent.

The clubs official site had this to say-“Contrary to what has been written on certain French and foreign websites, Mbaye Niang has left to have a trial at Arsenal with the agreement of president Jean-Francois Fortin and technical staff headed by Patrice Garande.”

Caen have made it clear that no bids for a permanent move have been made.

Niang scored twice in 14 starts for Caen in Ligue 1 last season.

Afellay set to join?

Leading on from our news reports earlier in the week it seems as though Barcelona are desperate to sell out favour Dutchman Ibrahim Afellay for as little as €6 million.

Afellay has always been sort after and is widely believed to have a very bright future ahead of him. With the departure of Yossi Benayoun from the club he could be a great choice to fill the gap.

Many Arsenal fans will hope that the potential signing could further convince Robin Van Persie to stay with his friendship with the player very public.
