Newly-rich Marseille chasing Arsenal Striker
Olivier Giroud could be a summer transfer target for Marseille, according to French paper l’Equipe.
Marseille, now owned by an American billionaire, are looking to invest in the squad in the summer and Giroud could be at the top of that list.
L’Equipe’s list included a number of Premier League stars such as Michy Batshuayi and former-Man City striker Edin Dzeko.
Giroud recently signed a new deal and has said that he is happy in north London. But he is 30-years-old now and must want regular first team football.
He has struggled to nail down a place in the first team and has spent most of the time sitting on the bench behind Alexis Sanchez.
If Alexis leaves then things could improve for Giroud personally, but if he does stay (unexpectedly, of course) then it could lead to the Frenchman considering his options.
If he did move on then a move back to his homeland would be a pretty logical one.
