Nuri Sahin on loan?
The Daily Mail are reporting that Arsenal are winning the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal. Sahin, 23 was signed by manager Jose Mourinho last May for a fee of around £8million, but has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabéu having made just 10 appearances in his first season.
It seems that Arsenal have jumped ahead of rivals Spurs who appeared to be the most likely destination for the German-born midfielder, who were thought to be keen on a swap deal with Luka Modric.
Cazola deal stalls
News of this deal comes as another potential transfer deal stalls. According to Goal.com Malaga have rejected a bid of £15.6million for Spanish international Santi Cazorla.
Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that a bid was placed, but confirmed that the club have dismissed the offer:
“At the moment, we’ve been offered 20 million euros for Santi Cazorla; selling him for this amount of money is practically giving him away.
“I don’t think the Club has any intention of doing so; I’ve spoken to Abdullah Ghubn and the Sheikh a lot about this, and they’re not thinking about it
