Earlier in the summer he was told he could leave. Crystal Palace were targeting him but would not meet his £27m valuation.
However, Arsene Wenger has a change of heart and wants the young Englishman to stay.
With Laurent Koscielny struggling with an Achilles injury and Per Mertesacker coming to the end of his career, Chambers could have a bright future at the club.
He spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and impressed despite the team being relegated.
He played ahead of Rob Holding in England’s under 21 team this summer, despite Holding seemingly being preferred by Arsene Wenger.
Chambers arrived from Southampton in a £16m deal just a few years ago and he could finally be set to play a bigger part in Wenger’s plans.
