Arsenal have been chasing the Monaco man all summer and look like they are making one last effort to sign him.
They have not been able to come to an agreement but this bid will test Monaco’s resolve.
Alexis Sanchez is the subject of a Manchester City bid of £60m but he Gunners have said that they want a replacement lined up before they will consider selling. Lemar could well be that replacement.
The other possibilities appear to be Julian Draxler and Ross Barkley but Lemar seems to be Arsenal and Arsene Wenger’s choice.
His versatility could be what has convinced Arsenal. He can play in the middle of midfield as well as on the left hand side.
It would smash the record Arsenal set when signing Alexandre Lacazette earlier this summer.
This one could go all the way.
