As has been the case all summer, Arsenal have not been able to get what they are valuing the Spaniard at and that has meant he is still an Arsenal player’s despite both the club and player seemingly wanting the move.
Deportivo have been the club most strongly linked with him but now it seems as though he will stay in the Premier League, whether that is with Arsenal or elsewhere.
He struggled for playing time last season after moving to the Gunners in August.
He also has his squad number taken from him following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.
It could still be a loan deal if he does leave the club but Arsenal seemingly want to free up some wages after the report yesterday that it was the wage bill that was restricting their ability to make new signings.
