Massive Arsenal transfer boost: Key target told he can leave club this summer
Alexandre Lacazette has been told that he can leave Lyon this summer.
The Lyon president earlier today stated that he could leave for his dream club – if they match their valuation.
Jean-Michel Aulas said at a press conference: “Alex had a good option with a club that is in his heart.
“If the club of his heart is able to match our demands – as Barcelona did last season for Sam Umtiti – then things will go well.
“Otherwise, it will depend on our other business.
Arsenal have been linked with Lacazette for some time with Arsene Wenger a known admirer.
Some see him as a perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez should he head out of the door at the Emirates.
He has a very good record in France.
He has 26 goals in 29 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
The main issue though is that the player said last week that he would want to move to a team in the Champions League.
That could well be something Arsenal can not offer.
Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in the Frenchman and some reports have suggested that they are in pole position to sign him.
It is not clear what sort of fee it would take to prise him away from Lyon.
