Arsenal face stiff competition from Spurs for signature of £8.7 million La Liga Star
Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are thought to be battling it out for the signature of Eibar defender Florian Lejeune, according to the Mirror.
25-year-old Lejeune, who has helped Los Armeros (which is Spanish for ‘the Gunners’, curiously) cement a top 8 position in Spain’s Primera Division this season, has had no shortage of suitors recently.
And with Lejeune also an accomplished central midfield player, it seems as though Arsenal’s North London rivals Spurs have joined the race to acquire his signature.
Of the two sides interested, it would appear Arsenal are the club who have kept a closer eye on the Frenchman however, with Wenger apparently making multiple trips to watch him in action this season.
But with Spurs centreback Kevin Wimmer reportedly heading for the White Hart Lane exit door this summer, bringing Lejeune back to the Red side of North London won’t be easy with Tottenham also on the lookout for defensive cover.
